Special Educational Needs Policy & Report

Our SEND policy is:

The school’s purpose is to educate and care for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs Disabilities), as the only children admitted to this school have SEND identified in either an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) or Statement of SEN. Our philosophy is one that supports the belief that all pupils, irrespective of need, are entitled to a curriculum that is broad, balanced and accessible. All of our policies respond to the SEND of the pupils and this should be read in conjunction with all others policies. The governing body and teaching staff do their utmost to ensure that the necessary provisions are made for all pupils with SEND and that, where the headteacher has been informed by Local Education Authorities that a pupil has SEND, those needs will be made known to all who are likely to teach him or her.

The staff and governors are aware of the importance of identifying, and providing for, those pupils who have SEND. The headteacher, staff and governors review regularly the policy for pupils with SEND and make it available to parents at any time. Staff ensure that children with SEND join in school activities so far as is reasonably practical and compatible with pupils receiving the necessary special educational provision.

The annual SEN report, with the link below, details our provision.
