All classrooms are fitted with the latest ICT facilities and interactive white boards. We also have a purpose-built art room, sports hall, food technology room, science laboratory, design technology room and wood and metal workshops. In November 2014 we opened two brand new classrooms, which were built and funded by the school, improving the facilities we offer and enabling the school to increase the number of pupils we educate.
Our new sports hall has significantly improved and increased the range of sporting opportunities we can provide to pupils and the community.
Mowbray School is a leading member of the North Yorkshire Sports Special Partnership and receives yearly visits from professional sports stars through the Sky Sports Living for Sport program.
We also have a fully sensory room fitted with soft walls and flooring that uses different forms of lighting, fibre optics, bubble tube, sound wall and tactile creative play wall to create different and complementary sensory experiences. Ultra-violet lights enhance the possibilities, with glow-in-the-dark toys and even bubbles!
Mowbray School Children’s and Young Peoples Farm We are especially proud to be the only school of our kind to run our very own working farm within the school grounds. Starting with a few chickens six years ago, we now farm 5.5 acres on which we grow crops and rear a range of livestock, which not only provide produce but are also a highly valuable resource for teaching real vocational skills that lead to further training and real employment opportunities.
