    Admission Arrangements

If parents are interested in their child attending Mowbray School, then it is important that they make an appointment with the Headteacher to look around the school. We can only admit pupils who have either a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan.

The usual procedure for admission is through your child’s local education authority requesting whether we can meet a child’s special educational needs and if we have a place available, this information can be found on your Local Authorities admissions website. The Headteacher will only admit pupils once they have visited the school and met staff. Visits such as this are usually dependent upon local authority consent. Currently the school has pupils from North Yorkshire LA; Stockton-on-Tees LA; Redcar & Cleveland LA; Darlington LA; Middlesbrough LA and Leeds LA.

Once a placement has been agreed, the school in consultation with the parents/carers and local authority will put in place transition arrangements for the pupil to start at school. The school will negotiate directly with the relevant body regarding pupil funding. We do admit pupils throughout the school year, however when over subscribed we do compile a waiting list. Please contact school for a copy of our admissions policy.
